The National Education Policy was implemented in the country in 2020. At that time no politics was seen about it and no ideological differences were revealed about it, but it has opened the way for major educational changes in the country. The change in curriculum is happening for the first time since the Modi government was formed in 2014 and for the fifth time after independence. ‘The Indian Express’ in its investigation found that out of 25 NCF (National Curriculum Framework) groups set up to change the curriculum, at least 17 groups have RSS affiliations. From the national co-convenor of Swadeshi Jagran Manch to the head of Vidya Bharati, there are 24 members associated with the RSS.
Earlier, a three-day investigation by ‘The Indian Express’ has found that some chapters related to Gujarat riots, caste system, Muslim rulers have been omitted from the syllabus. When contacted, Kasturirangan said he would not comment on any matter related to the NCF. A senior member of the committee said, “We will do full justice to the work that has been given to us and will do everything possible to present things fairly.”
