Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear before the ED on Monday i.e. on June 13. Rahul Gandhi has been summoned by the ED for questioning in the National Herald case. On the other hand, Congress is seen standing with its leader. Congress is preparing to show strength in support of Rahul Gandhi on Monday.
What is the preparation of Congress- Congress leader Manickam Tagore said that party workers will protest in front of the Enforcement Directorate offices across the country to protest against the misuse of central investigative agencies by the central government. He said senior party leaders will march along with Rahul Gandhi to the probe agency’s office in Delhi on Monday.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot has also targeted the Center over the ED summons against Rahul Gandhi. Pilot said that all Congress MPs, working committee members and prominent party leaders will be with Rahul Gandhi. He said- “Is it possible that no BJP leader in the entire country has done any such work which should be raided, investigated or summoned?”
Summons to Sonia-Rahul – ED has sent summons to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and MP Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case. Rahul was earlier called on June 2 and Sonia Gandhi on June 8. However, Rahul was abroad then, due to which he could not appear before the ED. After which the ED asked him to appear on June 13. At the same time, due to Corona, Sonia Gandhi also could not appear on June 8, after which she has been asked by the ED to appear on June 23.
What is the matter- BJP leader Subramanian Swamy accused Sonia-Rahul in 2012 of cheating in the acquisition of Associated Journals Limited (AJL). Swamy also lodged a complaint against him. Swamy also alleged that Young Indian Pvt Ltd had paid only Rs 50 lakh to acquire rights to recover Rs 90.25 crore which Associated Journals Ltd owed to Congress.
