NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) located in the Parliament House. It was told that the conversation between the two veterans lasted for about 20 minutes. However, it is not clear on what issue the two leaders discussed.
By the way, this meeting took place at a time when central agencies are engaged in rapid investigation against the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra. Interestingly, a few hours before this meeting, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was taken into CBI custody.
The CBI squad took him into custody from Arthur Road Jail in central Mumbai. Also arrested in connection with the corruption charges leveled against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh.
A day earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached assets worth over Rs 11.15 crore of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s wife and two of his associates in a money laundering probe into some land-related deals.
Raut has said – a state like Maharashtra which is not a BJP ruled state. There the central investigative agencies are being misused. He is going to put democracy and our freedom in danger. This is not right.
Said the Shiv Sena leader, “People come from Delhi. Enter the homes of our people. No notice, no warrant, no summons. OK, I’ll see. Time will change and our time will also come.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra government minister Chhagan Bhujbal said that you are misusing the central investigative agencies. You are talking of causing trouble to those who talk against BJP. File an ED case against him. Then put him in jail.
At the same time, former Maharashtra CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said that after such action, he (Sanjay Raut) keeps making such allegations. But, when the ED takes this action on the basis of facts and evidence, then the ED is cursed. This is their strategy in a way. I think they should come cleanly.
