First, 20-year-old Lakshya Sen defeated Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Anthony Ginting. Doubles stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty then beat Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjay Sukamuljo 18-21, 23-21, 21-19 to give India a 2-0 lead.
