The National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI) has recommended that it should now be given between 8 and 16 weeks on the Corona Vaccine Covishield. Explain that the difference between two doses of Covishield has been reduced as compared to earlier. Earlier, there was a difference of 12 to 16 weeks between the two doses of this vaccine.
However, no clear date has been revealed about when this recommendation will be implemented. On the other hand, if we talk about Bharat Biotech’s corona vaccine Covaxin as compared to Covishield, there is a gap of 28 days between its first and second dose. At the same time, the new recommendations made by NTAGI regarding the vaccine are based on scientific evidence from programmatic data.
News agency ANI quoted official sources as saying that the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) has recommended reducing the duration of the second dose of Kovishield vaccine to 8-16 weeks after the first dose. In fact, currently, the second dose of Covishield is given 12-16 weeks after the first dose.
Sources say that after giving the second dose of Covishield after eight weeks, the response of antibodies produced in the human body was similar to the dose given between 12 and 16 weeks. If the new recommendations are implemented, the number of people taking second doses will increase. There’s a lot of difference now.
The Omicron variant is also believed to be the main reason behind reducing the gap between the two doses. Let us tell you that there has also been a decrease in the cases of corona in the country. In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,761 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the country. There has been a decrease of 15 percent in comparison to the last 24 hours. Let us inform that a day earlier, 2075 of Corona were found in the country. In such a situation, there is a continuous decrease in these cases.
