Insurance cover of 3 lakh will be given in case of loss of house due to natural calamities
Every year earthquakes, floods and fires destroy the homes of many people across the country. After being devastated by natural calamities, it becomes very difficult for most of the middle class families to build their own house. In such a situation, work is being done on a home insurance scheme by the central government. According to the information received from the news website Zee News, the central government is organizing to launch a new insurance scheme like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Under this new scheme of the central government, insurance coverage of up to Rs 3 lakh will be given by the government for the damage caused to the homes of people during natural calamities like floods, earthquakes. This coverage will be of household items, apart from this, personal accident cover of up to Rs 3 lakh will also be given to two members of the family taking the policy. According to the information received from the sources, a framework has already been prepared by the government regarding this.
At present, a quotation of Rs 1000 has been given for this policy by various private insurance companies. However, the government wants to limit this premium to only Rs 500. In such a situation, if the premium prices are not cut by the private companies, then the scheme will be implemented in the whole country only by the government companies.
