On July 18, the country will vote for the Presidential elections and on July 21, the country will get a new President. In such a situation, where the NDA has made Draupadi Murmu its candidate in this election, the opposition parties have made Yashwant Sinha, who is said to be a staunch opponent of Narendra Modi, as their candidate. At present, on the basis of numbers, there is little hope of Yashwant Sinha becoming the President.
On the other hand, Yashwant Sinha’s wife Neelima Singh said that my husband is happy to be made the presidential candidate but it is also difficult. She said that my husband is one of the frank people. They do what they feel is right. His character is strong.
Neelima Singh said that Yashwant Sinha has her confidence. They do not tolerate wrongdoings. That’s why he sometimes speaks more, speaks more vaguely. On the other hand, on Yashwant Sinha’s hope of winning the presidential election, Neelima Singh said that there is no special hope of winning. Because the majority is with the BJP and they have chosen the candidate well. In such a situation, there is no special hope but then let’s see what happens.
It is worth noting that in the presidential election, NDA’s tribal woman candidate Draupadi Murmu is getting support from many other parties as well. This includes BJD. BJD President and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday appealed to all the members of the state assembly to support NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the upcoming presidential election after Murmu was nominated as the candidate. He called Draupadi Murmu the daughter of the kingdom.
Please inform that Patnaik is currently on a tour of Italy. In such a situation, he wrote in one of his tweets, “An appeal to all the members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, irrespective of party lines, to unanimously support the election of Draupadi Murmu, the daughter of Odisha, to the highest office of the country.”
Apart from this, the NDA candidate has also got the support of Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas). At the same time, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also announced his support.
Vote math: The BJP-led NDA has 48 per cent votes (5.26 lakh out of 10.86 lakh votes). In such a situation, the support of any party was needed to win the NDA candidate. In which BJD has made it clear that it will support NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election. Despite the sour relations with JDU, Nitish Kumar has given his support to the NDA candidate. In such a situation, the victory of the NDA candidate is almost certain.
On the other hand, the Congress-led UPA has about 2 lakh 59 thousand 800 votes. In which the Congress has the maximum number of 1,45,000 votes. NDA is ahead in numbers.
Significantly, the BJP secured 7,02,044 votes for its presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind in 2017. But at present NDA has a total of 5.26 lakhs. The electoral college consists of the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and state legislatures and the BJP has a majority in the lower house only.
