Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived at Srinagar airport on Thursday. Singh is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. On the first day on June 16, he went to the forward areas in Kashmir to take stock of the security preparedness on the LoC. Also did a comprehensive review of the security situation in the Valley. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s big statement has come to the fore. He said that ending ties with India is not in the interest of the country. Pakistan is already isolated internationally.
Rajnath Singh said that India’s western neighbor Pakistan has always resorted to anti-India activities and Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed terrorist activities in the past as well.
“There has been a decline in the number of terrorist activities in the state recently due to the untiring efforts of the armed and security forces personnel. However, Pakistan constantly tries to disturb the peace in the country through its approach.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the ploy of Pakistan is that it wants to hurt India. Addressing the brave soldiers, the Defense Minister said that you are the wire of the country’s fence, due to which Pakistan itself gets injured. Rajnath told the jawans that the whole country trusts you, because they know that you are ready for any situation.
Singh said, “India has never tried to harm any country, nor have we tried to capture even an inch of land. According to the statement of the ministry, “If ever there is an attempt to hurt the unity and integrity of the country, the armed forces will give a befitting reply.”
The ministry said they were briefed about the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control, development works on area fortifications, anti-infiltration grids, operational preparedness and army-civilian relations in the border areas. He was also briefed about the “overall security situation” prevailing in the LoC and hinterland and the security measures for the Amarnath Yatra.
During this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh remembered the brave martyrs of the Galwan Valley violence. He said, ‘I bow to the heroes of Galwan Valley who fought valiantly for the honor of the country and sacrificed their lives on 15-16 June 2020. Their courage, bravery and supreme sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Singh was accompanied by Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi and Lt Gen AS Aujla, who is the commander of 15 Corps responsible for the security of the Line of Control in the Valley.
Let us tell you, on 15 June 2020, there was a military conflict between India and China in the Galvan Valley of Eastern Ladakh.
