The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked all its MPs to reach Delhi two days before the Presidential elections to be held on July 18 so that the party’s MPs have 100 percent attendance in the Presidential elections. Party sources gave this information on Friday.
Sources said a training and presentation session would be organized for the MPs on their arrival in Delhi on July 16 to make them aware of the nuances of the voting process. BJP President JP Nadda has organized a dinner for all the MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on July 16.
Before this, NDA leaders will have a meeting on Sunday night. The meeting is taking place just before the start of the monsoon session and the presidential election. There will be serious discussion on many issues. The BJP is taking great care to avoid any lapse in the presidential election.
Draupadi Murmu has been fielded by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the presidential election. Many other parties including YSR Congress, Biju Janata Dal have decided to support him. In terms of statistics, his becoming the President is believed to be fixed. On July 18, from 10 am to 5 pm, voting for the Presidential election will be held in Room No. 63 of the Parliament. If Murmu becomes the President, she will be the first tribal and youngest President of the country.
On the other hand, Yashwant Sinha, the presidential candidate from United Opposition, is unlikely to visit Bengal in his itinerary. Sinha is planning to visit Chandigarh, Jharkhand and other places in Bihar ahead of the presidential election on July 18.
Although there was no official comment from TMC on Sinha not going to Bengal, sources in the campaign team of the former Union minister indicated that he may quit the campaign for Bengal due to paucity of time. . Anyway, Mamata Banerjee’s party in Bengal is fully supporting Yashwant Sinha.
