Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has once again shown a glimpse of his linguistic knowledge on social media on Twitter. This time he took a jibe at the Modi government’s statement of ‘fringe’. Where his reference was to the suspended BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal.
In fact, international outrage had increased after the controversial remarks of Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal on Prophet Muhammad. Strong objections have also been raised in this matter from many Muslim countries. After which the Government of India called both the leaders as Fringe Elements.
Commenting on which Shashi Tharoor wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, “They have been fringe (drunk) for a very long time and some of them are anhinj (mentally ill). The way it has been sung in the country.”

Actually, Congress leader Tharoor was replying to a tweet by a user named Riya Vesta who tagged him. Rhea wrote in her tweet, “When ‘fringe elements’ make you ‘cringe’ (flatter) nationally and internationally, isn’t it a clear sign that they have gone too far before causing any further damage? Should this be stopped?”

Controversy erupted over former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s remarks on Prophet Mohammed, saying the controversial remarks about the Prophet were made by “some fringe elements”. After which people say that those who are being called ‘fringe elements’ were representatives of BJP and were holding party posts.
