There is a boil among the youth in many states against the Agneepath scheme of the central government. There is a lot of opposition to this new scheme of recruitment in the army. Those opposing this scheme have done arson and vandalism at many places. In Bihar, protesters opposing the plan blocked the rail route and road. The protesters torched 5 trains in Chhapra, Kaimur and Gopalganj. During this, 12 trains have been vandalized. At the same time, the BJP district office in Nawada has been vandalized.
Protesters create ruckus in Bihar: Furniture and chairs were burnt in BJP’s district office in Nawada in protest against the Agneepath scheme. In Nawada, BJP MLA Aruna Devi’s car was pelted with stones when she was on her way to court, in which five people including the MLA were injured. Several railway stations in Bihar have also been vandalized and looted. The railway station in Arrah was looted and ransacked. Due to this violent protest 22 trains running from Bihar have been cancelled. Violent demonstrations have also taken place in Munger Saharsa, Buxar, Jehanabad in Bihar.
At the same time, there has been a reaction of Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad on the protest of the youth regarding the Agneepath scheme. He appealed to end this demonstration and said that he requests the youth to try to understand the positive aspects of this scheme. Apart from Bihar, there has been tremendous opposition to this scheme in Jammu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, UP, Haryana.

Police had to fire bullets in the air in Palwal: There was a tremendous uproar in Palwal, Haryana over the Agneepath scheme. Here the furious mob pelted stones at the DC office, after which the police had to fire in the air to bring the situation under control. Several policemen have been injured in stone pelting by protesters in Palwal. Mobile internet services have been suspended here for the next 24 hours. The Agneepath scheme is also being opposed in Gurugram. Here the Delhi-Jaipur highway was jammed, hundreds of youths blocked the NH 48 adjoining Bilaspur police station area and started raising slogans.
Empty bogies of the train have also been vandalized in Madhya Pradesh. At the Khajura railway station, the protesters gathered on sight and ransacked the bogies. The police lathi-charged and fired tear gas shells at the students protesting against the Agneepath scheme in Gwalior.
CM Yogi appealed: In Gorakhpur, Unnao and Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh, youth also took to the streets and protested against the Agneepath scheme. At the same time, CM Yogi appealed to the protesting youth and said, “‘Agneepath Yojana’ will give new dimensions to your life as well as give a golden base to the future. Don’t be misled.” He said, “Our ‘Agniveers’, determined to serve Mother Bharati, will be an invaluable fund of the nation and the UP government will give preference to Agniveers in police and other services.”
