Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala has been embroiled in a controversy by making a controversial statement. In fact, during a press conference, Surjewala wanted to mention the incident of Draupadi’s dismemberment in Mahabharata but his tongue slipped and he said ‘Sita Maiya Ka Chirharan’. After this he has come under the target of BJP. Taking a jibe at Surjewala’s statement, BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla said that he claims to be a janeudhari Hindu but he believes in ‘Rome culture’ instead of ‘Ram culture’.
Shahzad Poonawalla tweeted, “Even as a Muslim, I know that the chirharan was not of Mother Sita but of Draupadi.” Shahzad Poonawalla shared a statement of Randeep Surjewala, in which the Congress leader is addressing the press conference.
The Congress leader says, “The power force has come here on the trust of ED, CBI, in the earlier Rajya Sabha elections also the people of BJP had eaten their faces, this time too they will eat their faces.”
Randeep Surjewala: “Sita Maiya” was chirharan”
Even as a Muslim I know that Cheer Haran was not of Maa Sita but Draupadi! But then Congress denied existence of Shri Ram!

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala further said, “Truth will win, majority will win, democracy will win, constitution will win, law will win, morality will win and people wearing the cover of lies. Want to do chirharan…they will be defeated, exposed.” After this statement, Surjewala, who was holding a press conference regarding the Rajya Sabha elections, came under the target of BJP. After Nupur Sharma’s statement, the BJP, which came on the back foot, has started retaliated on this statement of the Congress leader.
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla launched a scathing attack on the Congress leader over Randeep Surjewala’s controversial remark and said, “It is not a slip of the tongue, it is a fall of character.” At the same time, there are strong reactions on social media on this statement of Surjewala. A user demanded to register an FIR against the Congress leader. At the same time, another user said, “If you don’t know then don’t speak Surjewala ji… don’t humiliate Hindus.”
