Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has been embroiled in a controversy over a tweet on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. However, he has tweeted and has now clarified on this. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had tweeted remembering Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary, “When a big tree falls, the earth shakes.”
Deleting the tweet due to controversy over this, the Congress leader clarified and said, “I have nothing to do with the tweet made with my name. A malicious campaign is being run against me by the opposing forces.”
On this tweet of the Congress leader, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia targeted the Congress. Showing a screen shot of Adhir Ranjan’s tweet, Bhatia said, “This is a tweet of 21 May 2022, when a big tree falls, the earth shakes and when the earth shakes, a few thousand civilians are killed.”

He said, “When a big tree falls, the earth shakes a little.” Let us inform that on October 31, 1984, the then PM Indira Gandhi was assassinated and the very next day, anti-Sikh riots broke out in Delhi and other parts of the country.
