A consortium led by IT company TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) has received an order worth Rs 550 crore from telecom company BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) to install indigenously built 4G network. The consortium will initially install 6,000 mobile towers for 4G network services of BSNL.
A senior BSNL official told news agency PTI (Press Trust of India) on Friday (April 8, 2022), “A consortium led by TCS has placed an order of Rs 550 crore for setting up 6000 towers for 4G services. Has gone.”
Meanwhile, another source was quoted in the report as saying that this agreement was signed only on Thursday (April 7, 2022). However, there was no response from TCS to the e-mail sent in this regard.
By the way, earlier on Wednesday (April 6, 2022), Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said in Parliament that BSNL will soon start indigenous 4G telecom network across India with plans to install around 1.12 lakh towers across the country.
