Students going home and going to education are given 50% relaxation in General Category, Second Category and Sleeper Class and 50% in MST and QST. While for SC/ST Category, 75% in Second and SL Class and MST. and there is a discount of 75% in QST. Free second class travel between home and school (MST) for girls of graduation level and boys up to 12th standard (including madrasa students). Government students and rural areas School – 75% discount is given for study tour once a year in second class. There is a relaxation of 75% in second class for national level school entrance examination for medical, engineering etc. The relaxation is 50% in second class for students appearing in the main written examination conducted by UPSC and Central Staff Selection Commissions. .
50% discount in second sleeper class for foreign student studying in India traveling to attend camps/seminars organized by the government and visiting places of historical and other importance of India during holidays.35 years Research scholars up to the age of 50 years are given 50% relaxation in second and sleeper class for traveling in connection with research work.
season tickets for students
Season tickets are issued to students for journeys up to a maximum of 150 km. Student monthly season tickets will be charged half the adult season ticket fare and student quarterly season tickets will be charged 2.7 times the student MST fare. Students of institutions recognized under MST/QST will be issued without any minimum fee. Provided that the age of the students to whom the ticket is issued should be 25 years of age of general student, age of SC/ST students 27 years and the age of the research scholar should not be more than 35 years.
