On Tuesday, Amit Shah slammed the Congress over the merger bill of Delhi MCD in Parliament. The bill was strongly opposed by the Congress. Democracy was called for. In response to these questions of Congress, Amit Shah said that the party which imposed Emergency, got Kishore Kumar’s song cut, is talking about democracy.
Actually, this bill was discussed in the Rajya Sabha, some suggestions came from the opposition, while some big allegations were also leveled against the government. Responding to this bill, Home Minister Amit Shah took a dig at the Congress. Shah said- “The party that brought emergency, the party that snatched the democratic rights of the country, the party that imprisoned more than two lakh workers of the opposition without any fault… The party that cut the voice of Kishore Kumar in the song of the picture is crying out for democracy today”.
Amit Shah also took a jibe at the statement in which it was said on behalf of Congress that people who forget history get recorded in history. Shah said that I am seeing this in this house, those who have forgotten history, they have become history. He said that there were two members of BJP, Congress people used to shout slogans like Hum Do-Hamare Do. Look at the situation today.
Let us tell you that the Central Government has decided to unite the Delhi Municipal Corporation divided into three parts. The bill related to this has been passed in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Earlier also the MCD was the same, but it was divided into three parts in 2012 by talking about better governance. Which now the Modi government is going to unite again.
Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are fiercely criticizing this move of the Center. Because before the elections, the BJP government has taken this decision. AAP says that BJP is scared of the possibility of defeat, so it is merging MCD by stopping elections.
