Poor families are going to get another chance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The UP government is preparing to send a proposal to the Government of India to provide housing to 13 lakh more people. If this proposal is approved by the Government of India, then eligible people under the housing scheme will be able to apply again and they will get the benefit of PM Awas Yojana. On the instructions of the Deputy Chief Minister, the Rural Development Department is busy preparing the proposal.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has directed to send a proposal to the Government of India for re-registration on Housing Plus for all the kutcha houses and homeless people living in rural areas. If this proposal is sent and the Government of India allows it, then at present all the people included in the eligibility list will get the benefit of the housing scheme.
Demand for allotment of 13 lakh houses
Rural Development Department Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh says that a proposal to open Awas Plus portal will be sent to the Government of India soon. The demand for allocation of 13 lakh houses has been made by the state government for the financial year 2022-23. At the same time, 13.08 lakh people are included in the UP housing eligibility list. That is, on the approval of the proposal, everyone will be able to get housing. However, till now 14.49 lakh villagers have been given housing under the 2011 caste census.
More than 3 crore families got houses

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Friday and informed that the central government has constructed more than three crore pucca houses under the PM Awas Yojana. We have made an important step in our resolve to provide pucca house to every poor of the country. The construction of more than three crore houses has been possible only with the participation of the people. The construction of 2.52 crore pucca houses has been completed under PM Awas Yojana. Under this, an assistance amount of Rs 1.95 lakh crore has been released.
At the same time, 58 lakh houses have been built for urban. In which assistance amounting to Rs 1.18 lakh crore has been given so far. Electricity, water, cooking gas and other facilities have been provided to all these rural and urban people.
