From March 16, children in the age group of 12-14 will be given the vaccine of COVID-19 across the country. Along with this, people above 60 years of age will be able to get a booster dose as a precaution. Regarding this, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed in a tweet that if the children are safe then the country is safe! I am happy to inform that from March 16, COVID vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 13 and 13 to 14 is starting.
He said that with this, all the people of 60 age will now be able to get booster dose. I urge the families of children and people above 60 years of age to get the vaccine. Let us inform that this decision has been taken at a time when reports of a new virus of infection have come to the fore in two major cities of China, Shenzhen and Shanghai. Let us tell you that the lockdown has been imposed again in China.

The Health Ministry has announced that children born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 i.e. those above 12 years of age will be eligible for their COVID-19 vaccines from March 16. The vaccines for COVID-19 are being given to people above the age of 14 years as part of the ongoing immunization programme.
Let us inform that till now the third dose of vaccine against corona virus in India was being given to health care workers, front line workers and people above 60 years of age who have any comorbidity, only booster doses were being given to them.
Vaccination slots were opened for children in the age group of 15-18 in January 2022. On the first day of the vaccination campaign, over 40 lakh children in the age group of 15 to 18 were vaccinated against COVID-19.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday said that in a major step in the fight against COVID-19, the Center will vaccinate all adults above 60 years of age with a precautionary dose starting Wednesday. Earlier, people over the age of 60 were eligible for the precautionary dose, which is the third shot, to boost immunity that naturally subsides after the first two shots of the COVID vaccine.
Explain that this dose will be the third dose of the same vaccine that has already been given to a person. This means that if a person has been given Covishield in the first two doses, then he will also get the third dose of Covishield. The same rule applies to the vaccine.
