In the violence that took place in Birbhum district of West Bengal, the state’s CM Mamta Banerjee sees a conspiracy. CM Mamta said, “I still feel that there is some conspiracy behind the Rampurhat incident. CBI is investigating this matter. It’s a good decision. Let us tell you that after the murder of TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh in Birbhum on March 21, ten houses were torched. Eight people, including women and children, were killed.
Significantly, after taking suo motu cognizance of the Calcutta High Court, the investigation of this case has been handed over to the CBI. On the other hand, Mamta Banerjee called it a good decision and said that, CBI is investigating this matter, it is a good decision but if they only follow the instructions of BJP then we are ready to protest.
Addressing an event in North Bengal’s Bagdogra, CM Banerjee said, “We have seen earlier also that CBI has failed to deliver justice in the investigation of Tagore’s Nobel Prize theft, Netai incident and Taapsee Malik case. Whereas it was a special investigation team.
The Calcutta High Court on Friday asked the CBI to probe the murders in the Birbhum case. With this, the court has fixed April 7 for the next hearing. The CBI will have to submit its preliminary report on this date. The court has also directed the state government to extend full cooperation to the CBI in the investigation of this violence.
Mamata Banerjee, who arrived on a six-day tour of North Bengal, said, “A Trinamool worker was murdered by another worker. But everywhere only TMC is being criticized. We have taken several steps to investigate the matter and find out the real reason behind the incident.
He said that many such incidents have happened in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Tripura and Assam. Where our party workers are not allowed to go to the spot but in Birbhum we have never stopped any political party from going there.
At the same time, the CBI, which is probing the case, has said in its FIR that preliminary investigation shows that such violence was committed in Birbhum to avenge the murder of Bhadu Sheikh, TMC deputy head of the local panchayat.
