The Vice President of the country, Venkaiah Naidu released the book “Modi@20 Dreams Meet Delivery” on 11th May. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present in this program. During this, Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely. Amit Shah is considered the smartest election campaign manager. Amit Shah also admitted that he learned these tricks from PM Modi.
Amit Shah traces Modi’s success as an election strategist not from Gujarat’s chief ministership or 2014 campaigns, but from 1987, when Narendra Modi was given the BJP’s campaign charge in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections. At that time the Congress was dominant in Gujarat and the whole country.
With about a dozen seats, the BJP was hardly in the electoral equation and the Janata Dal was the main rival of the Congress at that time. Narendra Modi was then General Secretary (Organisation) and Amit Shah was in charge of the BJP Ahmedabad unit. Against all odds, the BJP won a majority of municipal seats and mayor posts that year. During his two long visits to Gujarat, Narendra Modi taught many important lessons to Amit Shah.
One piece of advice that has always been with Amit Shah was that every village will have two prominent candidates from the previous Sarpanch elections. Whereas the winner will be from Congress or Janata Dal. Narendra Modi made a point of wooing the loser and persuading him to join the BJP. Gujarat has not turned its back on the BJP since the mid-1990s and continues to get unwavering support for the BJP. In the last 2 Lok Sabha elections, Congress has not been able to win even a single seat in Gujarat. Assembly elections are due in Gujarat at the end of this year.
In the program, Home Minister Amit Shah praised Narendra Modi fiercely. He said, “For 40 years I have been in politics. But I have never seen a bigger audience than Narendra Modi. They listen with concentration and this is the biggest feature of PM Modi. Modi ji has moved ahead considering the society as family. He is the first such leader in the politics of the country, whose family hardly anyone has heard about. Such a leader will not be found even by searching through binoculars.
