The Aam Aadmi Party, which won power in Punjab with an absolute majority, is now working on the policy of spreading its feet in other states. Under this strategy, many former Haryana MLAs, former ministers and social workers joined the AAP party on Monday in the presence of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
Satendra Jain said, “After AAP’s victory in Punjab, there is a wave going on in Haryana as well. People are saying that good government has come in Punjab. When elections are held, AAP government will be formed here.” The names of former MLAs and ministers who have joined the party include former MLA Umesh Agarwal, former minister Balbir Saini, former minister Bijendra Singh Billu, former MLA Ravindra Machrouli, BSP leader Javed Ahmed and Jagat Singh.
At the same time, excited by the victory of Punjab, AAP has now decided to contest the 2023 Panchayat elections to strengthen its hold in West Bengal as well.
AAP’s West Bengal in-charge Sanjay Basu has said that the local unit has already started its campaign to contest the panchayat elections on the instructions of the party high command. AAP had also held a rally in Kolkata on March 13.
At the same time, on expanding its scope, senior AAP leaders told The Indian Express that the resounding victory in Punjab has prepared a national platform for the party. He said that now Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are prominently on our radar.
In fact, assembly elections are to be held in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh by the end of this year. In such a situation, the Aam Aadmi Party is working on the policy of spreading its feet in both these states.
In fact Aam Aadmi Party has captured 92 seats out of 117 assembly seats in Punjab. In such a situation, the people of Punjab have chosen AAP as an alternative to the ruling Congress by giving full majority. It is expected that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab’s nominated Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann may visit the state to strengthen the party in Gujarat.
