Iran had seized the Israeli ship near the Strait of Hormuz on April 13, a day before the missile attack on Israel on April 14. Iran captured the Israeli ship after attacking it using commandos; 17 Indians were also on board. After this information came to light, the Indian Foreign Ministry started contacting Iran for the release of the Indians. Now, due to the efforts of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, one of the 17 Indian members, a woman from Kerala, has been successful in bringing back to India.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that Cadet Ann Tessa Joseph, a resident of Thrissur, Kerala, who was part of the Indian crew aboard the cargo ship MSC Aries, has been released. Many of them reached their home in Cochin. Apart from this, the Indian mission in Tehran is in touch with the remaining 16 Indian personnel of the cargo ship MSC Aries. He will also be released soon. The Ministry of External Affairs said it is in touch with Iranian authorities regarding the well-being of the remaining crew members of MSC Aries, the Indian mission in Tehran. Legal process is also going on for the release of all of them. Who are expected to be released soon. However, it has not been explained why the release of the remaining members is being delayed.
Iran attacked the ship on 13 April
On April 13, Iran attacked this Israeli ship. The ship was a cargo ship belonging to a company partly owned by an Israeli billionaire businessman, with 17 Indian nationals on board. Now India is in touch with Iran to free 16 others among them. This development took place against the backdrop of increasing tensions between Iran and Israel.
