Monkeypox is spreading rapidly in African countries. Since the beginning of this year, 548 people have died due to monkeypox in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thousands of people are suffering from monkeypox. Apart from African countries, monkeypox is likely to spread to other countries as well. Due to this, the Indian government has already become alert.

Vigilance increased on the borders of the neighboring country

The Union Health Ministry has asked officials of all airports as well as land ports located near the borders of Bangladesh and Pakistan to be cautious about international passengers due to monkeypox. After the government’s order, vigilance was increased sensing the threat of monkeypox.

Arrangements made in these 3 hospitals of Delhi

The Health Ministry has made special arrangements for the stay of any patient suffering from monkeypox in Delhi for isolation, management and treatment. Here a team of doctors will monitor him. In Delhi, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital and Lady Harding Hospital have been marked as nodal centers.

States should also plan in advance- Central Government

Sources said that all state governments have also been asked to identify such designated hospitals where monkeypox patients can be monitored and isolated. PM Modi’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra chaired a high-level meeting on Sunday regarding the growing threat of monkeypox. In this, the country’s preparations regarding monkeypox have been reviewed amid increased surveillance for quick identification.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox a public health emergency of international concern due to its prevalence and spread in many parts of Africa.
