Once again, absurd claims are being made by China regarding Arunachal Pradesh. The limit has reached when China has recently changed the names of 30 places in Arunachal. The Indian government has rejected this claim of China. Meanwhile, now Assam CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma has given a unique statement on this issue. He has appealed to the Indian government that India should also change the names of 60 places in China’s Tibet region. Let us understand this whole matter.
Why did the controversy start?
China is repeatedly giving statements on Arunachal Pradesh. When China was scolded by India on this matter, the ‘Dragon’ was shocked and the names of many places in Arunachal Pradesh have started changing on paper. China has changed the names of 30 places inside Arunachal Pradesh. China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs has also released a list regarding this. Let us tell you that China calls Arunachal Pradesh as Jangnan and calls it a part of the Tibetan Autonomous Region. This is the fourth time in the last 7 years that China has changed the names of places in Arunachal.
What did CM Himanta say?
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma said that I do not want to comment on this because it is a policy decision of the Government of India. But if China keeps 30 names then we should keep 60 names. He requested the Government of India that we should give 60 geographical names to the Tibetan areas of China. ‘Answers should always be given on a tit-for-tat basis.
What did the Indian government say?
The Indian Foreign Ministry has given a strong statement on the statement issued by China on Arunachal Pradesh. Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has said that changing the name will not change the reality of Arunachal. Arunachal Pradesh has always been and will remain an integral part of India.
