Tokyo, July 17 (IANS)| Indian weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu had her first practice session in Tokyo on Saturday. Mirabai, along with her coach Vijay Sharma, assistant coach Sandeep Kumar and other staff members, arrived in Tokyo on Friday from a training base in St. Louis, USA. On Saturday, Mirabai was seen lifting weights with a face mask on and trying to work on her snatch lift during a high intensity training session.
Meanwhile, the Indian shooting team landed in Tokyo on Saturday. The 15-man squad, accompanied by coaches and support staff, landed in Tokyo after leaving their training camp in Zagreb in Croatia on their way to Amsterdam. The National Rifle Association of India posted a tweet on the arrival of the shooting team in Tokyo for the Olympics.
Team includes Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Abhishek Verma, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, Anjum Moudgil, Apurvi Chandela, Deepak Kumar, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Elavenil Valarivan, Mairaj Ahmed Khan, Manu Bhaker, Rahi Sarnobat, Sanjeev Rajput, Saurabh Chaudhary, Tejaswini Sawant and others.
