The fifth incident related to the death of a leopard has come to light in the last seventy days. Now the concern of the forest officer has increased, because only after the last census, the state has got the status of Leopard State. In such a situation, now the officials have asked to keep an eye on the activities of the suspects in the forests. Even instructions have been given to check the role of poachers. On the other hand, the officers sitting in the headquarters are also worried about the continuous deaths of leopards.
In the forests of Indore, Choral, Mhow and Manpur, wild animals were counted between November-December, in which tigers and leopards have been found. Tiger has been seen in three to four places. At the same time, the number of leopards is said to be 50-55 in the entire forest division, in which Choral-Manpur has the highest. But once again the incidents of their death have increased. Last month, three leopards died in Manpur in fifteen days. While one died in Indore and Choral. The limbs of four leopards have not been tampered with, while the nails of one leopard have been removed in Manpur. By the way, the team of the range has caught the accused. However, the investigation in the matter is still going on.
According to sources, the forest workers have got some evidence about some of the accused. Action may be taken soon. DFO Narendra Pandawa says that due to the continuous death of leopards, each range has been instructed to increase surveillance especially in the forest. Even emphasizing on increasing the information system.
– January 17: Suspected death of 13-year-old leopard was found in the forest area near Morod Machal. According to the villagers, it was told to give poison in order to hunt the leopard. Immediately the team of Indore range did the post-mortem of the leopard. Where the zoo administration has told that the organs of the leopard are not working.
February 6: Leopard found dead in Undwa forest area in Manpur range. On inspection, it was found that one and a half year old leopard died in a mutual fight between two animals. Evidence and traces have also been found regarding the fighting in the area. In the post-mortem, the doctor found that the leopard’s neck had teeth marks of another animal. He died due to breathing problems.
22 February: Leopard found dead in Kalikirai in Manpur. On investigation, it was found that the leopard was hit by the vehicle. this caused his death.
23 February: Leopard found dead in Janapav coming in Manpur range. In the inspection, three nails of the leopard and the hair of the moustache are missing. Then the investigation started, in which the priests of Panchmukhi Hanuman temple Hukum Baba and Santosh were arrested.
March 9: Leopard died in an open well in Choral.
