This waste is called tailing. Every year 3 million tonnes of tailings get deposited here and it is becoming very hard soil.
Many of the company’s projects have been closed due to lack of funds, but for 56 years the waste is coming out. Till date 30 tonnes of garbage is being removed daily. The value of soil deposited due to precious metals is Rs. 250 crore is estimated. According to officials of the Copper Mines, if the mud and waste is sold, the closed project can be restarted. The waste has been tested by a Chinese company. Investigation revealed that there were many types of precious metals in the river.
