Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford Study It has been found that using the Internet can provide positive benefits to people’s mental health. Researchers have conducted this study on more than 2 million people from 168 countries from 2006 to 2021 regarding Internet use and psychological well-being. Analyzing the data of this research, researchers found that Internet use is linked to people’s positive well-being. Internet use can improve quality of life and help promote psychological well-being.
According to researchers, people who have internet access feel better than those who do not have internet. Internet users feel more satisfied in life than others. It is not that only the benefits of the Internet were seen in this study, but in many ways negative things about the Internet have also come to light. However, looking at the overall result, it can be said that the Internet can prove to be more beneficial than harmful for people, but people need to use it properly.
Even though this research has revealed the benefits of internet, but according to eye doctors, people should control their screen time, otherwise it can cause eye problems. Watching the screen for a long time can cause many problems including eye dryness, vision impairment, eye irritation. To avoid this, people should try to reduce screen time. Many previous researches have also revealed that excessive use of social media can be harmful for mental health. Therefore people should use the internet with caution.
