Jagdalpur. In the Bastar division, the inquiry committee has started the investigation into the complaint of irregularities in the promotion of teachers. On Monday, divisional commissioner Shyam Dhawade constituted a three-member inquiry committee and asked for the inquiry report in three days, within two hours of the order being issued, the committee under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Madhuri Som had reached the joint director’s office.
After discussing the documents related to promotion in the Joint Director’s office, the committee returned. After the office opened on Tuesday, there was a discussion that the inquiry committee has called the staff of the Joint Director’s office with documents and the investigation will be done there. After this news came to the fore, two or three staff from the Joint Director’s office reached the Divisional Commissioner’s office but from there went to some other place along with the inquiry committee.
The situation was not clear till late evening as to where the investigation proceedings were going on from the Joint Director’s office or the Divisional Commissioner’s office. Three days’ time has been given for investigation. In view of the short time period, the inquiry committee was engaged in scrutinizing the documents in some unknown place throughout the day. It is to be known that on the demand of teacher organizations by the state government, the requirement of five years experience for promotion has been relaxed to three years. The process of promotion of teachers is going on in the entire state on the basis of one time relaxation.
Promotion to 22 hundred teachers
In Bastar division, about 22 hundred teachers have been promoted including teacher LB to head teacher middle school and assistant teacher LB to teacher LB. After some teacher organizations complained of irregularities in promotion, designation etc. to the in-charge minister Kawasi Lakhma, he directed the divisional commissioner to conduct an inquiry. On which the Divisional Commissioner has constituted a three-member inquiry committee under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Madhuri Som. Newly posted Joint Director Education RS Chauhan and Senior Accounts Officer Srinivas Rath are members of the committee.
