New Delhi. Gujarat Titans pacer Yash Dayal on Friday said that he was very nervous while playing his first Indian Premier League (IPL) match, but he is glad that he could bowl well. He got full support of his captain Hardik Pandya. Dayal bowled brilliantly from the new bowler in the IPL, taking 3/40 wickets in his four overs to restrict Rajasthan Royals to 155/9. At the same time, captain Pandya’s unbeaten 87 off 52 balls and Abhinav Manohar’s 43 runs in 28 balls helped Titans win by 37 runs.
It was Gujarat’s fourth win of the IPL 2022 season and they moved up to the top of the points table with eight points. Dayal said, “For the kind of background I come from, this is a big deal for me. It was a proud moment for me and my family. I was a little nervous but I controlled it.”
Dayal said he was very nervous when he came to bowl to Devdutt Padikkal. Dayal said, “I was very nervous, but still I did not compromise on my bowling. I knew I had to maintain my line and length. Hardik supported me completely. He gave me complete freedom to bowl.”
