In the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings have maintained themselves in the race for the playoffs by registering a 28-run win against Punjab Kings. In this match, CSK team batted first and scored 166 runs in 20 overs but till now MS Dhoni, who appeared in excellent form this season, returned to the pavilion without opening his account. Dhoni was clean bowled by Harshal Patel on the very first ball of his innings, although he did not celebrate after taking this wicket, which he revealed after CSK’s innings.
I respect Dhoni a lot
In this season of IPL, Dhoni is coming out to bat only for the last few overs in CSK’s innings, so when he came on the field in the match against Punjab Kings, only 7 balls were left to play. Harshal bowled a slow ball to Dhoni on which he tried to play a big shot but there was no contact between the ball and the bat and the ball went straight to the stump. Regarding not celebrating Dhoni after sending him to the pavilion for a golden duck, Harshal Patel, while talking to the broadcasters, said that I have a lot of respect for Dhoni and that is why I did not celebrate after taking his wicket. Regarding his bowling, Harshal said that bowling during the day gives you a chance to reverse the ball and I also continuously practice my slower ball in the nets, which is a bit difficult for the batsmen to understand. Let us tell you that Harshal has made Dhoni his victim for the third time in IPL.
Chennai reached top-4 with victory
In this match against Punjab Kings, after scoring 167 runs at one time, the victory of Chennai Super Kings was looking a bit difficult, but on the basis of excellent bowling of Ravindra Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande, CSK defeated Punjab on the score of 139 runs in 20 overs. Just stopped it. With winning this match, Chennai has once again reached the top-4 in the points table of IPL 2024 with 12 points.
