Islamabad: On one hand, while the conflict between Iran and Israel is increasing, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi reached Pakistan on Monday on a three-day official visit. Regarding Ibrahim Raisi’s visit, Pakistan Foreign Ministry said in a post on social media platform ‘X’, “Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was warmly welcomed at Islamabad Airport. He was received by Housing and Works Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu.
High level delegation accompanied Iranian President
The Foreign Ministry said that the Iranian President is accompanied by his wife and a high-level delegation including the Foreign Minister, other Cabinet members and senior officials. President Raisi has an extensive program in Pakistan. During this, he will meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The Foreign Ministry said that the Iranian President will also visit Lahore and Karachi and meet the administration there.
There will be many agreements between the two countries
According to Pakistan Radio, Raisi will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif where delegation level talks will also be held between the two countries. “On the occasion of Earth Day, the Iranian President and Prime Minister Shahbaz will plant saplings at the Prime Minister’s residence and they will sign an MoU between the two countries for cooperation in various fields.” According to Pakistan Radio, “Prime Minister Sharif and President Raisi Islamabad Will attend a ceremony regarding naming of a highway in Iran Avenue.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, “The two leaders will discuss issues of further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations, enhancing cooperation in various fields including trade, energy, agriculture, people-to-people contacts.” The talks between the two leaders will focus on regional and global development and bilateral cooperation to combat the threat of terrorism. According to the State Department, Pakistan and Iran have strong bilateral relations based on history, culture and religion and this visit of Ibrahim Raisi will provide an important opportunity to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations.
