New Delhi. Indian Railways is an integral part of Indian life. Wherever the common citizen of the country has to travel, rail comes at number one in the list of his preferred means of transport. About one crore people travel through it every day. In general, there is a tussle over train tickets and seat reservations, but it increases during festivals. To get a seat in the train, people have to make reservations several months in advance. So many times the people making reservations get so crowded that the server itself sits down. In such a situation, many times there are many big problems in booking tickets. IRCTC has taken a big decision to overcome these problems of its passengers. For this, IRCTC has appointed a foreign consultant, who will help people to overcome the problems faced in booking e-tickets.
It is worth noting that on big festivals like Durga Puja, Diwali, Chhath, there is a lot of fight for booking railway tickets. Apart from this, getting confirmed and tatkal tickets also becomes very difficult. In such a situation, keeping a foreign company as a consultant for e-ticket booking will get rid of the problem of server down due to heavy rush on festivals. For your information, let us tell you that in the last 2-3 years, the share of e-tickets in the total number of reserved tickets has increased significantly.
About 80 percent of the total reserved tickets are being booked through IRCTC. At the same time, during the year 2016-2017, the share of e-tickets was 60 percent, which has now increased to 80%. Also, the festival season will get rid of touts.
