Daily Bathing Impact on Body: Almost all adults in India take bath every day. However, this is not the case in other countries in the world. Whereas in Australia, 80 percent people take bath every day, but in China, more than half do not take bath every day. He bathes only two days a week. In such a situation, this question arises in everyone’s mind whether one should not take bath every day. Most of the people in India believe that taking bath daily keeps us clean and it removes dirt from our body. Therefore, if someone in India is told that one should not take bath every day, they will just make fun of it, but doctors in the western world believe that taking bath every day is unnecessary.
nothing but social custom
In a BBC report, an environmentalist Donachadh Makarthy says that taking bath daily is a social custom. There is a belief in the society that bathing removes body odor. This has been accepted in the society but there is no truth in this. He said that we are doing this because the society has told us that if we do not do this then we will fall ill. That’s why we are afraid. McCarthy himself bathes only two days a month. He spent two weeks with the Yanomami tribal people in the Amazon forest. These tribes also do not bathe. After coming back from there, he stopped bathing every day.
Protective layers are stuck to the skin
Christine Gram Hansen, environment professor at Aalborg University, Denmark, said that if you look back 100 years, at that time people did not bathe every day. There is no evidence that this has any health benefits. In such a situation, people take bath because the society has said so. Doctors often advise that if your skin is dry or you are suffering from skin infections like eczema, then do not bathe every day. This is because bathing every day will kill the innumerable microorganisms stuck to your skin that used to protect your skin.
Good bacteria will be reduced
Dr. Robert H. Schmerling of Harvard Medical School says that the oil, good bacteria and microorganisms produced by normally healthy skin keep the skin maintained. If we bathe with soap daily, it will remove all these things from the skin, which may also cause harm. This may result in dry skin and itching. Due to dry skin, harmful bacteria get a chance to reach it and it breaks the protective layer between the skin and the skin, which increases the risk of many types of infections.
Then why shouldn’t you take a bath every day?
Till now, the things that have come to light regarding daily bathing usually come from experts from western countries. No special research has been done regarding this. We know that millions of good bacteria and micro organisms in the skin protect the skin but in countries like India, dust pollution is very high. If dust pollution sticks too much to the skin then it is no less harmful. So these things are still a mess. Dermatologist Dr. Josie Park tells in the New York Times that how often you take a bath depends on how much your body sweats and how much dust sticks to your skin. If these are in excess then taking bath is also necessary.
