Southern Gaza.
Jerusalem: The Israeli army has suddenly declared a ceasefire in the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday. Israel has made this announcement after 8 of its soldiers were killed in a major and deadly attack by Hamas. But let us tell you that Israel has not declared a ceasefire out of fear, but has taken this decision to facilitate humanitarian aid. According to the Israeli army, a strategic pause has been declared during the conflict to provide maximum humanitarian aid in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said that there will be a ‘tactical ceasefire’ in Rafah from 8 am to 7 pm and it will remain in effect until further notice. The army said that the tactical cease has been announced with the aim of reaching the aid trucks to the Israeli-controlled Kerem Shalom crossing, after which these trucks will be able to safely move on the Salah-e-Din highway to deliver aid materials to other parts of Gaza.
Relief material reaches the Israeli army through this route
Kerem Shalom road is the route through which relief material is delivered to the Israeli army. He said that a strategic pause has been declared during the conflict in coordination with the United Nations and international aid agencies. The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for the last eight months, due to which Gaza is facing a humanitarian crisis. The United Nations says that due to the war, relief material is not able to reach the people in Gaza, due to which widespread starvation has spread there. (AP)
