Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has blamed his own leaders and coalition parties for the crushing defeat in the assembly elections in five states. He said that the party’s own leaders created problems in Punjab. He also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of working in the spirit of revenge against the Congress. The Congress lost power in Punjab in the 2022 elections and in Goa too, the party’s chances of a return to government were dashed.
In a conversation with Deccan Herald, Kharge said that we may have lost the election, but it does not mean that we have lost our base. Regarding the defeat in Punjab, he said that our own people created problems for us. At the same time, he told other parties responsible for the defeat of Goa. Kharge said that the so called secular parties in the state spoiled our votes.
“People hold us responsible and ask why we don’t bring other parties with us,” he said. He asked, ‘What are these parties actually doing? When we give them a chance, they take our place.’ He said that instead of weakening the BJP, they are actually eating our votes. Kharge said, “They are not making a new place. They go to those states where Congress is strong. This happens in places like Goa and Manipur.
During this, Kharge also raised questions on the BJP. “Even in this election, we have not been completely wiped out. BJP has acted with special vendetta against Congress in many places where we were strong.
