Jahangirpuri Violence Preliminary Report: Delhi Police has submitted its preliminary report to the Union Home Ministry regarding the violence in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. In this preliminary report prepared on the basis of the investigation of the violence case so far, the police have told that this violence was carried out under criminal conspiracy.
Giving details about the entire incident in the report, Delhi Police has also told what action has been taken so far. The police have so far arrested 24 accused involved in the violence and also recovered some weapons. According to the information, violence broke out between people of two communities after stone pelting during the procession taken out on Hanuman Jayanti in Jahangirpuri on Saturday, in which a civilian and eight policemen were injured. The Delhi Police has so far arrested 24 people from both the communities in this case and two juveniles have also been detained.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said on Monday that the investigation of the violence case has been handed over to the Crime Branch and 14 teams have been formed for this. Asthana said social media platforms are being closely monitored and legal action will be taken against those trying to spread misinformation.
Amit Shah instructed Delhi Police to take strict action
It is being told that Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to take strict action against those involved in the Jahangirpuri violence case. Amit Shah speaks to Rakesh Asthana after senior Delhi Police officials presented him a report on the April 16 incident in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area. This is the second telephone conversation between Amit Shah and Asthana after the incident. The Home Minister had on Saturday spoken to Asthana and Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deepender Pathak on the incident and asked them to maintain law and order.
There was a stampede in the procession after stone pelting
According to the statement of Inspector Rajiv Ranjan posted in Jahangirpuri, the FIR states that the procession was going on peacefully, at 6 pm when the procession reached near C-Block Jama Masjid, a man named Ansar along with his 4-5 others. He reached there with the people and started arguing with the people involved in the procession. As the argument escalated, stone pelting started on both sides. Due to this there was a stampede in the procession.
