Ranchi. Three hardcore Naxalites were arrested in Jharkhand’s Latehar and Giridih on Wednesday. The police also destroyed a Naxalite camp in Giridih district.
An officer of Giridih police said that in a joint operation conducted with CRPF on Wednesday morning, the camp of Naxalites was demolished in Bardonga village of Nimiyaghat police station area. A hardcore lawyer Jitlal Marandi was arrested from the spot. Police had received information that in this village rewarded Maoist Naxalite Krishna Hansda was meeting with associates. However, the Naxalites team managed to escape as soon as the police arrived.
Here in Latehar, two Naxalites of TPC (Third Presentation Committee) involved in the murder of JMM leader Dilsher Khan have been arrested by the police. American pistol and bullets have been recovered from them. Latehar SP Anjani Anjan said that on April 24, the JMM leader was murdered by TPC Maoists. He had demanded a hefty amount from the JMM leader. The arrested Maoists include Sanoj Oraon and Asheshwar Ganjhu. Police said that Sanoj (28) is originally from Kaimur Bhabua in Bihar. These days he lived in Balumath in Latehar, while Asheshwar is also a resident of Hempur in the same block. Six Naxalites were involved in this massacre. Raids are being conducted to arrest others.
