Jio and Airtel have once again increased their user base. According to the new data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio now has a total of 472.42 million i.e. 47.2 crore wireless subscribers. The number of active users of the company has also seen a huge increase. At the same time, the number of mobile subscribers of Vi (Vodafone Idea) and BSNL has once again decreased.
Jio and Airtel users increased
According to the new data released by TRAI, in April 2024, Jio has added 3.06 million i.e. about 30 lakh new active users to its userbase. Jio’s total active users have now increased to 433.42 i.e. 43.3 crores. At the same time, the total number of users of the country’s largest telecom has now reached 472.42 i.e. 47.2 crores. Bharti Airtel has also added 0.75 million i.e. 7.5 lakh new users in the month of April. However, the number of active users of the company has come down by 2.09 million i.e. 20.09 lakhs.
The total number of active users of Airtel has now reached 383.32 million i.e. 38.3 crores. The overall subscriber base of the company has also increased to 386.52 million i.e. 38.6 crores. The user base of the other two telecom companies Vi and BSNL has now decreased. In April, the number of active users of Vi has decreased by 0.63 million i.e. 6.3 lakhs. In this way, the active users of the telecom company have now come down to 192.64 million i.e. 19.26 crores. The total number of users of the company has also come down to 218.93 million i.e. 21.89 million.
BSNL-Vi is in bad shape
The condition of government telecom company BSNL is also similar to that of Vi. BSNL has lost 0.33 million i.e. 3.3 lakh active users in April. The company’s active user base has now come down to 47.84 million. The total number of BSNL users has decreased by 1.23 million i.e. 12.3 lakh. BSNL now has a total of 87.02 million i.e. 8.7 crore mobile users.
According to TRAI, Jio has 40.48 percent market share and the company consistently remains at number one in terms of consumers. At the same time, Bharti Airtel now has 33.12 percent market share. The market share of Vi and BSNL has come down to 18.77 and 7.46 percent respectively. According to the report, Airtel now has 99.17 percent active users. At the same time, Jio has 91.32 percent active users by April 2024.
