It is the third day of curfew in Karauli, Rajasthan. The arson took place here after the communal clashes that took place on Saturday. Curfew continues here on Monday as well. So far the police have arrested 46 miscreants, 7 people have been detained. Violence broke out when some miscreants threw stones at a bike rally passing through a Muslim-dominated area. This rally was taken out by Hindu organizations on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar.
Bharatpur Range Inspector General of Police, Prasanna Kumar Khameshra said that the stone pelting incident took place during the procession in Futa Kot area located near the main market of Karauli on Saturday. In this case, the police, doing a great job, arrested 46 people and took 7 people into custody for questioning. The police have also seized 21 vehicles.
He said that seeing the seriousness of the matter, he immediately reached the spot in Karauli. After this he took stock of the situation with the Superintendent of Police. The IG reached there with Karauli’s SP Shailendra Singh. During this, instructions were given to deploy necessary police force and RAC.
The IG said that he is closely monitoring the situation to keep law and order under control. For this, the police is also continuously patrolling the city. A flag march was also conducted in the city along with the police force. At present the situation is under control, but as a precautionary measure, curfew continues in the city.
