Shivakumar said that around 15 state Congress leaders met Rahul Gandhi in the presence of party general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala and KC Venugopal. We have briefed him about the political atmosphere in Karnataka and the organizational matters of the party. We have a year’s time and we have been asked to change the national politics, go before the people keeping in mind the issues of the people of the state. The leaders have been asked to spend more time on the field. It is our duty to bring the party back to power and we have promised to work together. He said the Congress’ padyatra to implement the Mekedatu project will begin from Ramanagara on February 27 and end on March 3 at the National College Ground in Bengaluru.
