While efforts are being made by the government to settle Kashmiri Pandits in the valley, on the other hand the terrorists are forcing them to stay away from their motherland by creating panic. The killing of a government employee by barging into the Tehsildar’s office on Thursday evening has once again raised the concerns of Kashmiri Pandits. Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists barged into the Tehsil office and opened fire on 36-year-old Rahul Bhat. Rahul was rushed to the hospital soon after the attack, but died during treatment. This incident has increased the anger of Kashmiri Pandits and people continued to protest late on Thursday.
After the murder of Rahul Bhat, a large number of Kashmiri Pandits came out of the transit camps and took to the streets to protest. Candle march was taken out and demanded the government to take measures to protect them. After the rise of militancy in the Valley in 1990, a large number of Kashmiri Pandits had migrated to different parts of the country. Some families stayed in transit camps. Kashmiri Pandits marched in protest, saying that the incident had brought them to panic and their efforts to return to their homes had suffered a setback.
After entering the Tehsildar office located in Chadoora village of Budgam district, the terrorists opened fire on Rahul Bhat. It is worth noting that in the last few months, terrorists have targeted Kashmiri Pandits and people of other Hindu communities who have come from other states many times. Be it the murder of the owner of the medical store or the incident of firing on the teacher and the principal after entering the school, they have increased the concerns of the Hindu community. The terrorists are believed to have been repelled by the toughness of the security forces and attempts to bring back Kashmiri Pandits and are carrying out dastardly attacks.
