New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor scam, has sought refuge in the Supreme Court on Sunday. A local court in Delhi had granted him bail, after which the High Court had stayed it till the next hearing, he has filed an appeal in the apex court against this stay. According to information received from PTI, the vacation bench of the Supreme Court may hear this case on Monday.
It is noteworthy that on Friday, the Delhi High Court had put an interim stay on the bail order of the lower court to Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor policy scam. The vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain said, “I am reserving the order for two-three days. The implementation of the lower court’s order is stayed till the announcement of the order.”
The Delhi High Court had also issued a notice to Kejriwal and sought his reply on the petition of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which challenged the June 20 order of the Rouse Avenue Court. The Rouse Avenue Court had granted him bail. The High Court had further said that it is reserving the order for 2-3 days to review the entire record.
