New Delhi. West Indies all-rounder and limited overs captain Kieron Pollard announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday. Pollard has played 123 ODIs and 101 T20 matches for West Indies. He made his ODI debut against South Africa in April 2007 and made his T20I debut against Australia at Bridgetown the following year. The cricketer never played a Test for West Indies.
“After much deliberation, I have decided to retire from international cricket today,” Pollard said in a video on Instagram.
He added, “It was my dream to represent the West Indies team since I was 10 years old and I am proud to have represented West Indies cricket for more than 15 years in both T20s.” The star all-rounder is playing for five-time champions Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.
