Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi has said that behind such attacks, the atmosphere of terror in Kashmir is to be kept alive, regarding the targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley. General Dwivedi said that terrorists are killing Kashmiri Pandits and non-local laborers so that the atmosphere of terror remains in the valley. General Dwivedi said in an interview to news agency PTI that Pakistan is plotting terrorist attacks in the Valley. He said that Pakistan is creating local terror units to carry out terrorist incidents in the Valley under a well thought out strategy so that its image is not tarnished.
It is worth noting that in the last one year, several organizations like The Resistance Front (TRF), People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), Ghaznavi Force, United Liberation Front, Geelani Force, Lashkar-e-Mustafa, have formed in the Valley. Lashkar-e-Islam and Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighter organizations have claimed responsibility for the recent terror attacks in the Valley. These organizations in particular have a hand in the attacks on Hindus in the Valley.
According to General Dwivedi, there is tremendous international pressure on Pakistan to stop terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. That is why Pakistan is now trying to give indigenous color to terrorist organizations. General Dwivedi also said that Pakistan is failing to carry out any major terrorist incident in Kashmir, so it wants to maintain terrorist activity in the valley by targeting non-local laborers, Kashmiri Pandits and other people.
According to General Dwivedi, the army is analyzing the attacks targeting non-local laborers and Kashmiri Pandits and is also working out ways to neutralize such attacks. According to PTI, 17 Kashmiri Pandits and non-locals have been killed by terrorists in the Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
