New Delhi. The Supreme Court today granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam. However, the court imposed several conditions on his bail. Kejriwal will have to pay a personal bond of Rs 5000. 50,000 and surety of like amount. Additionally, he has also been banned from going to his office or the Delhi Secretariat as the Chief Minister. According to the court order, Kejriwal will meet Lieutenant Governor V.K. Kejriwal’s bail comes with the condition that he surrenders himself and returns to jail by June 2 in a money laundering case related to the alleged liquor policy scam. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Dutta directed Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Singhvi not to seek extension of interim bail beyond June 2. Due to the court’s decision, Kejriwal has been allowed to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections till June 2. However, the bench rejected Singhvi’s request for interim bail till June 5, which would cover the seventh and final phase of voting on June 4 and counting on June 6.
