New Delhi. The results of Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election Result 2021 are out. The magic of Mamta Banerjee was once again visible in the results. In front of Mamta’s ‘Khela’ again, the rest of the parties including BJP looked very weak. As per the trends so far, TMC has crossed the majority mark and is heading towards a big victory. Let us inform that the counting of votes for 144 wards of Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections began on Tuesday morning. From the very beginning, Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has maintained an edge over its opponents.
Counting at 16 voting centers between section 144
Kolkata civic polls were conducted for 144 wards. A total of 16 counting centers were set up for the counting of votes that began on Tuesday morning. In view of the tension between BJP and TMC, tight security arrangements were made in these voting centers. Not only this, section 144 was imposed in the area of 200 meters. No party workers were allowed to come under this purview. Let us inform that on December 19, about 64 percent voting was recorded in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections.

TMC towards big win
TMC is leading in 134 seats out of 144 seats in Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections. Along with this, TMC is also heading towards a big victory in the civic elections. However, the lead was made by TMC from the beginning. The ruling Trinamool Congress has made a big lead since the counting of votes began. Counting of votes started at 8 am. TMC was ahead in 116 seats, including ward numbers 23, 11, 31, 2, 4 and 7.
At the same time, out of 144 seats, BJP is leading in only three seats, while Congress is ahead in only two seats. Left is also leading on three seats while others are leading on two seats.
950 candidates were in the fray
A total of 950 candidates were in the fray in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election Result 2021. 40 lakh 48 thousand 357 people were eligible to vote in this election, out of which 21 lakh 17 thousand 840 are males and 19 lakh 30 thousand 444 are females. Municipal elections were set up at 1676 places while 4959 were held at stations.

CPI(M) opposed the election
The protest started even before the results of the civic polls were out. A CPI(M) candidate filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court on Monday. He said that he has requested to cancel the KMC elections held on 19th. The candidate has also accused Trinamool Congress supporters of inciting violence in the elections.
