During the raid, the team found huge bundles of currency notes from the engineer’s house. According to ANI, lakhs of rupees have been recovered from the house of the executive engineer of PHE in Hengrabari.
More than Rs 79 lakh recovered
The name of the executive engineer is said to be Jayant Goswami. During the search of the engineer’s house, a team of Assam’s Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has recovered more than Rs 79 lakh in cash. According to the information, the anti-corruption team has recovered a total of Rs 79,87,500 from the house of executive engineer Jayant Goswami. The team has confiscated this money.

This afternoon itself, Jayant Goswami, Executive Engineer of North Lakhimpur Division of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Team on charges of corruption. The team had caught Goswami red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 at Dhriti Prava Hotel in Hangarabari, Guwahati.
After the arrest, the team wasted no time in raiding the residence of Jayant Goswami in Hangerabadi and launched a search operation. During this operation, the team recovered a total of Rs 79,87,500 from the engineer’s house.
