The seventh edition of Rang-Rajasthan Festival, organized by the Department of Art, Culture and Archaeology, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Tourism Department, Rajasthan, was inaugurated by the Education and Art-Culture Minister Dr. B.D. On this occasion, Minister BD Kalla said that an atmosphere of continuous art and literary events has been created in the state. Art and Culture Department is constantly organizing virtuous artists in all the cities. Many quality artists and theatrical teams of the country are also coming to Jaipur in the Rang-Rajasthan Festival, who will entertain the audience with their performances. Such art festivals are also a worthwhile attempt to connect the common man with art and theatre.
Welcoming the guests, Abhishek Mudgal of Rang Rajasthan Festival told about the journey of Rang Rajasthan from the first edition to the seventh edition. He expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister, Art Culture Department, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Tourism Department and all others for necessary cooperation.
Indian Idol fame Sawai Bhatt was given colour-Rajasthan Award, Ragdhani Band and Sawai Bhatt added color
After the opening ceremony, Ragdhani Band and Sawai Bhatt gave their performances. Raagdhani Band sang Sufi and Folklore fusion songs. The band welcomed their listeners with the famous folk song of Rajasthan “Kesariya Balam Padharo Mhare Desh”, on which they made the audience dance. Then he enthralled the people by singing the Bollywood Punjabi song “Sanu Ek Pal Chain Na Aawe Sajna Tere Bina” in a Sufi style. After this, he sang many more songs continuously. Earlier, Hon’ble Art Culture Minister BD Kalla also inaugurated the photo exhibition ‘Rang-Navras’ organized by photographer Rajesh Kumar Soni. In the exhibition, stills of famous plays staged in Jaipur were showcased in which many colors of acting could be seen. Dr B D Kalla ji appreciated this effort of Rang Mastane Sanstha to keep the art and culture of Rajasthan alive through theatre.
