Petrol-diesel price remained stable for four and a half months
The price of petrol and diesel was increased by 80 paise on 22 March after remaining stable for four and a half months. Since then their prices have been increased three times by 80-80 paise per liter. In these total four times, the price of petrol and diesel has been increased by a total of 3.20 per liter. In five states, including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, the prices of petroleum products had remained stable since November 4, 2021, before the assembly election process began. However, the price of crude oil rose to $30 a barrel during this period.
Petroleum companies stayed for a few days after the election
With the results of the assembly elections on March 10, there was a possibility of increasing the price of petrol and diesel, but the petroleum companies waited for a few more days. It is being said that now the petroleum marketing companies are making up for their losses. India is 85 per cent dependent on imports to meet its oil requirement.
